Sunday 11th May 2025 – Bridlington
We had a nice turn out for day, we dropped the 14 none walkers in Bridlington to do their own thing.
The bus carried on to Flamborough Head where 19 walkers set off in bright sunshine.
Andy our walk leader and also our coach driver set off along the cliff top where we soon turned inland and round the back of the Lighthouse Holiday Park. The group of walkers carried on through rolling fields to come out in Flamborough Village it’s self where we saw what’s left of the castle. We carried on eventually joining the coastal path and heading back towards Famborough Head but not before stopping at South Landing for our well-deserved lunch break. After a steep climb out of South Landing the walk become easier. Steve kept on about coming to the coast and having fish and chips and walk being flat. Not sure about it being flat but those fish and chips sounded good. This part of the walk was a bit slow simply because of all the different sea birds and the seals. We encounted at least six different types of birds including Puffin, Guillemot, Gannet, Razorbill and Kittiwake. The group eventually came to the lighthouse and a short walk back to the coach but not before calling in at the pub for a well-deserved drink.
The walk was 8.8 miles, well done everyone it was a bit warm.
Not sure if Steve ever got his fish and chips.
